Product Review of Binxy Baby

I am grateful to have received a Binxy Baby Shopping Cart Hammock compliments of Binxy Baby.  Guys, this thing is pretty great for small babies.  I wish I had one when Leia was born.  Lugging a baby in a car seat around is a huge pain in the butt, especially when shopping.  I feel that is one reason a lot of moms just skip it for the first several months of a baby’s life.  I tested this thing out at a few stores and wanted to share my honest thoughts on this product for my readers.

I chose and received the ‘Indigo Dream’ print.  It is a beautiful blue print with white patterns spread around.  I chose this print since my husband and I want to have another baby eventually, and I wanted something gender neutral.  I love the print so much.  It folds up nice and flat and you can throw it in your diaper bag (that was a huge plus for me).  The material is very soft and feels very durable.  There are some knockoffs (cheaper products) on the market.  I haven’t personally tried those myself, but from what I hear they aren’t as good of quality as a Binxy Baby.  I can believe it though.  While this product is more expensive than those other products, the durability and quality makes this product worth it.  I don’t know about you, but for me, I would rather spend a little more money for something that will last longer and hold up better than getting something cheaper that will wear down much more quickly (especially if it is something holding my precious baby).

For standard shopping carts, you just attach the hammock towards the top of the shopping cart.  For larger carts, like Costco, you need to attach the hammock at the bottom (more narrow) end of the shopping cart.  To attach, you just place the plastic ridge onto the edge of the cart and then pull the strap through the cart and into the hook and connect the strap to the Velcro.  It is super simple to use and attach, don’t be intimidated.  Then you just place the baby into the hammock and strap the baby in.  What is really cool about this hammock is that it can also hold your car seat with the baby in it.  The hammock can support up to 50 lbs of weight.  Once your baby is able to sit up on their own, you will not want to put the baby in the hammock directly.  That could become a safety hazard.  As with any baby product, make sure you keep your eye on your baby while in use.  Baby’s safety is always the most important thing.

Shopping with this hammock is soooooo much easier than lugging and storing the baby’s car seat in a shopping cart.  It takes up way less room and you can fit more product in your shopping cart.  I will say I tried this on a TJ MAXX shopping cart and their carts were a little too narrow.  I ended up not using it there.  Target and Costco (where I usually go the most), worked great, as you can see in my photos.  Everybody’s babies are different and some may not like it, but I think it is totally worth trying.  This product makes a great addition to your baby registry.

If interested in the ‘Indigo Dream’ print like I have, check it out here.  To see all of their great patterns and hammocks, check out their site at Binxy Baby.

All in all, I would recommend this product to my friends, family and readers.  New mamas, add it to your registries or pick one up yourself.  Get it before baby is born so you will have it handy.

Have any of you tried Binxy Baby or any of the other hammocks on the market?  I would love to hear about your experiences in the comments.
