Product Review of DockATot Deluxe+

When I was pregnant, I kept hearing about and reading about DockATot.  I wondered, ‘What in the world is a DockATot???’.  I researched and discovered that it was a really cool looking baby lounger.  I knew then that I wanted to try one with my daughter.

I was very fortunate to receive a DockATot Deluxe+ compliments of DockATot.  I must say, I was very impressed with the product and packaging when I received it in the mail.  It came inside a big black box, which had a zip up plastic bag, that held the actual DockATot.  DockATots come in two different sizes (Deluxe for 0-8 month old babies and  Grand for 9-36 month old babies).  My daughter was ~4 months when I received mine, so I got the Deluxe version.  It is super important to note that you should fully read all of the directions / instructions very carefully prior to using this product.  As with anything used with your baby, ALWAYS supervise them while using the product.

Prior to receiving the DockATot, we would co-sleep with our daughter and she would lay in-between my husband and I in a bed we made up with her Boppy pillow.  I know co-sleeping or bed sharing is not for everyone, but it is just what works best for our family (for now).  ALWAYS practice a safe sleep environment for you and your baby.  Your child’s safety should always come first.  After receiving the DockATot, we only use it for co sleeping.  You don’t need anything but the actual DockATot for them to sleep in.  We keep the area very clear and nothing loose around her.  Our daughter has been sleeping so much better since we switched her to the DockATot.  She plays in it during the day, takes naps in it throughout the day and sleeps in it at night.

The lounger is very comfortable.  It is made of a nice, soft, breathable material.  It does not cause our daughter to overheat; she stays nice and cool.  The cover unzips easily so that it can be washed and put back on the lounger.

One of the really neat things about this product is that is comes in all sorts of super cute patterns.  I chose the ‘Petal Party by Oh Joy!’ print.  It is so adorable in its coral, gray and cream color scheme.  They also sell the covers separately, so you can stock up on all of the cute patterns.

I get so much use out of this product while I am pumping.  My daughter lays next to me in her DockATot, in our bed.  I loosely tie a balloon to her foot and let her kick away while I pump.  This keeps her entertained and in a safe environment while I need to take care of pumping her milk.  I want to stress again, make sure you supervise your baby while in use.  I keep her right next to me at all times.  She really enjoys playing (and sleeping) in her DockATot.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this product to my friends, family and readers.  While this product is a little on the pricey side, it is totally worth it.  For the smaller size (the Deluxe+), you can use it from birth to 8 months and for the larger size (the Gran) you can use it from 9-36 months.  It has long lasting durability.  I plan to use it with my next baby (should I have one).  I will be upgrading to the next size once my baby reaches the proper age.  Now that I have it, I can’t imagine not having one.

Moms-to-be, you must include this on your baby registry.  Shoot, put both the Deluxe+ and the Grand on your baby registry.  You will totally love having this for your baby.  It has given me so much peace of mind.  Current Mamas, you should invest in getting one of these as well, especially if you co-sleep.  This makes you feel so much more comfortable with your baby sharing your bed.

Bonus Tip:  The DockATot makes an excellent bed to do a DIY photo shoot with your baby.  Here is one I did for Christmas, and I am so in love with it.  My baby laid there happy as a clam while I was able to take her pictures.  Since I had a drop cloth over the DockATot for my photo shoot, I definitely made sure to watch her at all times.  She was only like that while I took photos of her.

Have any of you tried out the DockATot product?  I would love to hear about your experiences.
