#Grateful #Thankful #Blessed

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I wanted to take a moment to share some of the things I am most thankful for.  2018 has been one of the (if not ‘THE’) busiest and best year of my life.  I am so thankful for everything I have.  Today, my husband’s family welcomed my siblings to come join in on their Thanksgiving feast.  I am so happy I got to spend time with both sides of my family.

For thanksgiving lunch, I made some sugar free candied pecans and some mac and cheese (for my family).  My husband and I are still going strong on our Keto / Low Carb diet and we stuck to it this Thanksgiving.  These Keto Spiced Candied Pecans were super delicious and super simple to make.  I just had to share the recipe with my readers.  For those of you following a Keto / Low Carb diet, these are a must try.  They help satisfy the ‘sweet’ cravings we get every now and then.  Don’t just make one batch when making them, you must at least make two – trust me!

I love Thanksgiving – the food, family time, football, fall weather, just EVERYTHING!

This year, I am truly thankful for the following:

  • My husband – Patrick has been a true blessing in my life since I met him.  We’ve been together for 5 and a half years and I am so grateful.  He has brought so much happiness, laughter and strength into my life.  While there can be some frustrating moments sometimes, we really do help balance each other out.  We are both stubborn people (our poor daughter), so we have some fun times.  I love him so much and appreciate everything he does for me and our daughter.  I love you Patrick!
  • My daughter – Leia has made me happier than anything that has ever come into my life.  Being a mother to her is truly magically.  I always wanted to be a mother, but being one is so much better than I ever imagined.  She is just so perfect.  I couldn’t ask for anything better.  I hope that I can be the mom she needs me to be.  I will always try my hardest to do what’s best for her.  I pray she will never feel alone and she always feels loved.  I love you Leia!
  • My husband’s family – Ever since I came into their life over 5 years ago, I have always felt welcomed and loved.  They have taught me what a family is meant to be like.  They are always there for you no matter what.  They love being together and sharing their home with you.  They will always be there for you when you need it.  They always live their lives in a completely unselfish way.  I appreciate them so much and am very blessed to be able to call them my family.  Love you guys!
  • My family – While my family has its many ups and downs, they are who God chose to be my family.  I am so fortunate to have been born into a family that cared so much about our well being.  I have 3 siblings and we have become so close as adults.  I am so happy to have them in my life and that we stay connected.  While my dad and mom have divorced, they still try to stay civil and be there for us as we need it.  Each of them has only ever had love for each of us.  My extended family is also great! Several members of my family are part of a fantastic support system for me and my little family. I enjoy spending time with them and seeing their families evolve. I just love my family.
  • My job – I am very fortunate to have such a wonderful boss and job.  I have been at the same company for almost 13 years now.  I started working at this company at the age of 18.  When I first started, I had no idea I would still be there this long and that it would have turned into an actual career.  My job is where I met my husband, and for that alone, I will always be thankful to them.  My boss has been super supportive and flexible with everything going on in my life (especially this past year with my pregnancy and maternity leave).  I am thankful to my employer.
  • My home – I have been fortunate to have been able to buy 3 different houses in my life.  I bought my first at the age of 23 (on my own) and sold 2 of the 3 I’ve bought.  My husband and I bought and moved into our home last year.  We feel we got an excellent deal in a fantastic neighborhood.  We are very grateful to have our home and everything we have.  Owning a home is a ton of work, but it’s a blessing to have.
  • My maternity leave – Not everyone is fortunate to be able to have maternity leave or have a good amount of time off with their baby.  I am blessed to be able to get 18 weeks paid.  While I know having to go back to work is going to be one of the hardest days of my life, I am so happy I have been able to have the time with my daughter that I’ve had.  Again, I am thankful for my job and for them having this for new moms (and dads, they get 8 weeks paid).
  • My blog – I started this blog in September and I had no idea what I was doing (I still don’t know much), but I am thankful to be learning all about the blogging life.  Blogging allows you to share your life and thoughts with the world.  I love being able to give people my opinions on things and sharing things I think could help them out.  Whether it be recipes, products, services or something else, I plan to share with you all things I think you should know about.

This Thanksgiving, what are you truly thankful for?  I would love to hear about what means the most to you.
