My Amazon Obsession

I think the thing that drives my husband the most nuts about me is my Amazon obsession.  He hates all of the boxes that are a result of my shopping (he is the one that breaks them down and takes them to be recycled – thanks hunny!).

I have personally been a member of Amazon Prime since 2009.  My first year I only placed 8 orders.  In 2017, I placed 317 orders (I know, don’t judge me).  The Amazon Prime membership is literately one of the best things I have ever spent my money on.  There are so many perks – streaming movies, tvs, music, read books, super fast shipping, subscribe & save, Whole Foods discounts, lightening deals, etc…  They even offer a way for you to send a percentage of your money to a reputable charity of your choosing (just add ‘smile’ into the web address – smile.amazon.com before placing your order).  You can also have your items shipped to other places (including ‘lockers’ in most areas).  How cool does Amazon sound?

Amazon has everything – EVERYTHING.  I love being able to read reviews and do quick price comparisons between other merchants.  Amazon usually is the cheapest for products (‘usually’, but not always – you have to do your research people).  I have decorated my house, got stuff for my wedding, bought almost all of my baby stuff, and so much more through Amazon.  It’s great for getting gifts for birthdays, Christmas, Mother’s Day, etc… (they even have ways you can search for specific gift categories to help you out – including price ranges that fit your budget).  I go on there every other day or two and am usually ordering something I need.  Just today, I went on there to order a baby float for Leia for an upcoming vacation.  Amazon probably gets 75% of my disposable income (maybe a slight exaggeration).  As a mom, Amazon is great for products you need when things just pop up, when you’re creating a baby registry, or need something to make you feel good about yourself.  Speaking of baby registries – Amazon has a great one with lots of perks once you are able to complete some tasks.  Check them out if you need to create a baby registry (you don’t even need to have a membership with them to do so).

Let’s talk about their Subscribe & Save program.  This is an awesome feature Amazon offers their Prime members where you can have monthly boxes automatically sent to your home for items you need on a regular basis.  You can choose from different month intervals to have your items coming.  Since we are a small household, I usually opt for the 6 month subscription.  I highly recommend if you use this feature that you add at least 5 qualifying items to your box.  By adding at least 5 qualifying items you save 15% off your total order.  This service is perfect for things like toilet paper, paper towels, dish washing tablets, cleaning products, coffee pods, diapers, wipes, etc…  You don’t even have to think about these items once you set it up.  They just show up at the same time every month (or 3 months, 6 months, etc…).  You have so much flexibility in adjusting your orders, adding to your orders, etc… if you need to.  Check it out!

Prime Video, this is similar to Netflix and Hulu.  It is an added bonus to your Prime Membership (or some people go with just this service).  I feel like Amazon has the most ‘free’ movies and TV shows out there.  You can also pay for additional ‘channels’ like HBO, Starz, etc… to get additional content.

Overall, my favorite thing about Amazon is their One Day and Two Day Free Shipping.  It is also guaranteed by ‘X’ date or you can call and get a discount of some sort.

After hearing my fabulous praise for this company (of whom I do not work for) and you are interested in getting an Amazon Prime membership, feel free to get one through my link:  http://www.amazon.com/tryprimefree?tag=mindofamommy-20.

You should totally join Amazon Prime – just do it!  If you are already a member, make sure to take advantage of being a member with them.

I do share affiliate links via Amazon through my blog, but I do not personally work for the company. I just really do love Amazon!

Tell me reasons why you love Amazon and if you don’t, tell me why?
